CEREMONIES

MARRIAGE
As we have previously discussed, I am happy to meet with you in a convenient friendly environment and together we can design your special ceremony using your ideas, poems, special sayings, maybe something you have written yourself, or items from my catalogue, to personalise your day.

You may wish to include some biblical text, or a candle lighting ceremony. There are lovely ceremonies, ie The Lovers Knot, The Rose Ceremony, The Candle Lighting Ceremony, which can be included in your ceremony, and can be adapted to suit your own style.

As your celebrant, I will consult with you to create a ceremony that reflects your ideals, principles, bond and what you want for your special day.

The options for poems and readings are unlimited. You can choose your vows (I have several to choose from or you can use your own words). I will need to say some words to make it legal, but the rest of the wedding ceremony can be tailored to suit you. I can support and guide you to plan your ceremony with information and suggestions for each step of the ceremony. I am happy to work with you so that you ceremony is everything that you wish.

My fees start from $250. You have the option to choose from my "Boutique Wedding Ceremony package" or my "Classic Wedding Ceremony Package"

  • All interviews before ceremony to organise vows etc, correspondence via email, phone consultations, face to face, etc. These meetings will set out what type of wedding ceremony the couple would like, the legal requirements, legal documents and the writing of the wedding vows. I also provide a Wedding Information Book which sets out many different ways to greet your wedding guests, samples of Greetings, The Vows, The Asking, readings, poems and rituals (ie Candle Lighting Ceremony, Sand Ceremony, etc) which the couple can use to create their individual wedding ceremony.
  • Preparation of written ceremony, official documents, Wedding Certificate and Commemorative Wedding Certificate.
  • Providing Presentation Certificate of Marriage, and registering the marriage with Births Deaths and Marriages Department.
  • Officiating at the wedding ceremony.
  • Commemorative Wedding Booklets for the couple and official wedding party outlining ceremony (if requested).
  • Rehearsal (if required).

NAME GIVING CEREMONY
Naming Ceremonies are a very important part of family celebrations. They are the delightful occasion the parents choose to introduce their child to their family and friends and at that time bestow a name upon the child. Throughout the ceremony, readings can be given and vows taken by parents and/or god-parents.

Generally, Name Giving Ceremonies start with an introduction, and a brief explanation on the reasons that a naming ceremony has been chosen. When the names are officially bestowed upon the child, there may be an explanation on the reasons for selecting the chosen names, or a particular meaning attributed to the names.

During the ceremony, you can acknowledge the role of other significant people such as grandparents or older children. Even though a Name Giving Ceremony is non-religious, the term Godparent is often used and the appointment of Godparents, Guardians or Mentors is very much a matter of personal choice. A Naming Certificate is presented to the newly named child. Ceremonies can also include activities such as planting trees, sealing a time capsule, contributing to a memento box, or releasing balloons. The naming may also be accompanied by lighting of candles, anointing with oils, or sprinkling water or rose petals.
The ceremony does have some legal significance – a naming certificate is signed by five witnesses (ie celebrant, parents and mentors) would be accepted by the courts as a sufficient evidence to rectify a ‘non-record of birth’ situation or to rectify a wrongful entry in the records. No birth certificate is required to be produced to have a naming ceremony. I have several different sample Naming Ceremonies, and we can work together to make the Naming Ceremony to suit your own personal situation.

My fee of $150.00 incudes:-
All interviews before the ceremony, preparation of ceremony, commemorative certificate, rehearsal (if required), officiating at Naming Ceremony and commemorative booklet of the Naming Ceremony.

COMMITTMENT CEREMONY
For different reasons, you may not be able to or wish to legally marry, or may have been married overseas away from family and friends, or you may just not wish to make a legal commitment, then a Commitment Ceremony is a special way for couples to publicly declare their promise to commit to each other and commit to share their lives together.

Holding a Commitment Ceremony can be a deeply meaningful, empowering and a personally satisfying way to acknowledge and celebrate the significance and eternalness of your union.

The format of a commitment ceremony is similar to that of a wedding ceremony, but without the legal requirements. As well as vows, couples can exchange rings or other symbolic gifts. I will be glad to help you plan your commitment ceremony so that it reflects what you and your partner most value.

My fee of $250.00 includes:-
all interviews before the ceremony, preparation of ceremony, commemorative certificate, rehearsal (if required), officiating at Commitment Ceremony and commemorative booklet of the Commitment Ceremony.

RENEWAL OF VOWS
There are many reasons why you would like to have a Renewal of Vows Ceremony. Maybe your family could not be present at your first wedding, we can now renew your vows in front of friends and family. A Renewal of Vows Ceremony can be a meaningful and touching celebration for you as a couple and also for your family. It provides a formal and romantic opportunity for you to reflect on your marriage and your future.

Renewal of Vows ceremonies are full of warmth and feeling, are suitable for married couples to renew their vows, or for married couples, which after separation, are seriously reunited. It can also be a way of thanking your family and friends for the love and support they have shown you and your relationship over the years. It may involve your children, family and friends, who throughout the years, have been a witness to your love and friendship, or alternatively, by just you, the husband and wife.

I have several Renewal of Vow ceremonies, and we can work together to make it a truly personal ceremony for you.

My fee of $200.00 includes:-
All interviews before the ceremony, preparation of ceremony, commemorative certificate, rehearsal (if required), officiating at Renewal of Vows Ceremony and commemorative booklet of the Renewal of Vows ceremony.

LEGALITIES
The job of a marriage celebrant is firstly to ensure that all the legal papers are signed and delivered to the appropriate agencies and that the legal requirements of the marriage ceremony are fulfilled to comply with the Marriage Act 1961. There are two forms which will need to be completed (Notice of Intended Marriage and Declaration by Party to Proposed Marriage) and a brochure which I will need to give you called “Happily Ever – Before and After”. I can supply and explain these at our first meeting.

There are also certain documents that you will need to bring with you at the first meeting, (ie birth certificates, etc) and I will advise you prior to our meeting via email or phone, so you can bring these along to our first meeting.

I offer an obligation free interview to discuss your ideas and create your romantic wedding. I can give you several sample ceremonies which we can use to create options for you both to put your own ceremony together, ensuring your ceremony is personalised and very individual to you both. You will go away with a feeling that the whole preparation for your special day is being designed to be a very personal ceremony.

Please do not hesitate to contact me on (07) 3282 0895. or 0412 748 633. My fees are very reasonable, and include all meetings with you, email and phone discussions, preparation and completion of all legal documents, writing the ceremony, and a rehearsal, if needed.

I am a member of the Professional Celebrants Association (PCA) and a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFCC).
